Scheme/Pattern of HTET Examination for Level - III (PGT - Post Graduate Teacher) for Classes IX to XII

There shall be only one paper in this category. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.

Nature and Standard of Questions:
  • ·         The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 14-17 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
  • ·         The test items for language I (Hindi) will focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction relevant to the age group of 14-17 years.
  • ·         The Language II (English) will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities relevant to the age group of 14-17 years.
  • ·         The test items in subject specific will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects. The test items shall be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for classes IX-XII by the Board of School Education Haryana.
  • ·         The questions in the test will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the Board of School Education Haryana for classes IX-XII but their difficulty standard as well linkages could be upto the Post-Graduate level.


Qualification Marks: 60% (55% for SC and Differently Abled Candidates)
Negative Marking: There shall be no negative marking.

·         The questions in the tests for Paper II will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the Board of School Education Haryana for classes VI-VIII but their difficulty standard as well linkages could be upto the senior secondary stage.

About HTET

BSEH (Board of School Education, Haryana) conducting the Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test 2015 every year (at least once a year) for recruiting the candidates for various Teachers Posts in Haryana State Primary and Secondary schools.

Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test popularly known as HTET (Previously STET). The Validity Period of HTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be five years from the date of passing HTET

A person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher or Lecturer in any of the schools recognized by the Department of School Education, Haryana and affiliated by the Board of School Education, Haryana has to qualify the “Haryana Teacher’s Eligibility Test”. Qualifying in the Teacher Eligibility Test is made mandatory to ensure that persons recruited as teachers possess the essential aptitude and ability to meet the challenges of teaching at Elementary, Secondary and Senior Secondary levels. -->



This test will be conducted by this Board in accordance with these Guidelines and such other Rules/ Regulations/ Instructions/Policies laid down by the National Council for Teacher Education/Department of School Education, Haryana.

HTET 2014-15 New Examination Schedule, Dates | HTET 2014-15 Exam Dates & Schedule

BSEH (Board of School Education) issued new exam dates for HTET 2014-15. HTET Exam was going to be held on 29.08.2015 & 30.05.2015 but now the schedule of the examination has been changed. According to New Examination Schedule the examination will be held on 30 & 31 August 2015.
